The first emotion I want to cover is the feeling of Bliss, the feeling of Ecstaticness. Desires are desires. They are states of mind. What we think, we become. If we start thinking, remaining alert, remaining active or remaining happy, we become like that. If we remain sad, if we remain lost, then the state of mind becomes like that. So about the first emotion, a feeling of blissfulness, a feeling of ecstaticness. If we start feeling like that, our mindset will become like that. One who can laugh really well, can also weep well. The one who cannot laugh, cannot cry. So if we are really laughing from deep down in the belly, we can also cry very well. The first social encounter and connection of a child is the smile. That connects to happiness and that connects to blissfulness. So if we live life in a happy, joyful way, then that becomes our state of being. If we live our life being sad, then that becomes our state of being.
Now I am not saying that if the heart is feeling to cry that at that point we should fake and laugh. Not that, that time we cry all the way. When there is deep sadness we watch it all the way and then remove it from the system, but not always remain lost and sad, saying “I’m just being myself.” That doesn’t work well. So at the time you are really sad and you really feel like crying, then cry. Do the witnessing and by that remove the sadness. But when we choose the way of living, then we keep this feeling of happiness and blissfulness always and that will turn our state of being into a blissful one. Whenever we get any free time, instead of having the negativity in mind, we can recall the positive things that happened in life. The beautiful experiences of life. Experiences of peace, of love. So instead of repeating the same negative thoughts again and again, we repeat the good moments of life and this helps in creating our state of being into a blissful one. So I strongly recommend living life like this and I repeat: if we start living happy all the time, we become happy and if we start living lost, living sad, then the state of mind becomes like that, then we become like that. So it’s good to live happily. That is the first emotion to work on. The emotion of bliss and living ecstatically.
