This gossiping unnecessarily is the biggest disease we have in this century and at least in the previous century too. There is no bigger disease than this. If we ask that you don’t talk here at the ashram, the talking starts inside. You are sitting and then you are talking to yourself in your mind. When that comes, say inside to the mind, “Stop nonsense! I don’t like it!” And you can say it in an expressive way as well. The mind will listen to it. Again and again keep saying that whenever it happens. Pay attention when you are talking to yourself in your mind. Whenever you are talking, if you realize that you talked unnecessarily, the moment you realize, no need to complete that sentence. You realized that you are talking unnecessarily, stop there itself, don’t complete the sentence. That will give you a habit of not talking. The silence goes very deep down. In order to practice it further you can first stop your mobile communication. This is a big distraction. This takes a huge amount of energy. You stop talking, the mouth shuts, and then the mobile starts. My niece wanted to meet me after so many years and one day it happened, I went and met her. I met her and what she was doing all the time was facebook and texting. So to make her realize, from my phone I needed to send her a message saying “Hi, I am just here. We don’t need to go to America’s facebook server to talk.” She realized, she laughed and we spent a few moments, then after sometime, again the same thing started. It’s one thing you give your attention to and spend energy unnecessarily on. Stop it. Once in a day you can respond to the whole thing, all social media. That would be more productive. Less toxins you would get from electromagnetic waves also. First thing you can do is stop this. Then stop the TV, newspaper. Then, once you have taken space from other unnecessary things, no talking. Only when you really need to, you talk. Or if you talk, talk towards your goal in life, but also don’t just talun consciously. Because then we become a parrot and we have chosen another business. And we keep on repeating those things which we just heard and which look nice but we don’t implement them. To deepen the silence further keep the eyes on the ground. Don’t lift them up. When there’s no eye contact it would reduce the communication. Only when you need to then you take the eyes up. You would be more silent. Thoughts would be reduced. If you want to deepen it further, you can lock yourself in one room for twenty one days or forty one days. Then you’ll see what kind of peace you experience, what kind of thoughtlessness you would experience. If you want to deepen that, make the room darker. There would be more aloneness. So you live in darkness for some time. And then if you want to deepen it even further then reduce the sound as well so no sound is reaching the room. We have something called Kuti Praveshik. Kuti means room. You have one room inside another room so there is another layer around it. So the darkness deepens and sound also reduces. You stop the air flow in it, the sound would further reduce. You can dig a cave or use an existing cave and due to the shape and size of the cave, certain rays won’t go inside. Rays which are harmful and which stop you from connecting to the universe. The silence would deepen even more. There are also devices by which you can reduce the sound even more in the room. And then silence would be more deep. Then you realize that, “I can live life happily and joyfully without anything.” And these experiments are worth it because you have chosen the path of knowing truth. So instead of just doing a workshop with half energy and commitment, do the workshop totally and then you will reach something. In every group you will see there are some individuals who are really good and very sincere in their job. So deepen the silence and the quality of life would change. Absolutely stopping wherever you waste energy unnecessarily.
